Intermediate Lyra. “Weird Lyra”

This 4 week session is for continuing lyra students and experienced aerialists. We’ll learn fundamental and intermediate level postures along with transitions to safely build a strong foundation in aerial arts.  Class will focus will be on sequencing and choreographing longer phrases.  Each class will include strength and flexibility exercises specific to aerial training and time to work on new shapes, spins, and Lyra choreography.  This class is designed for those with previous aerial dance experience and assumes students are able invert in the air and hang by hands for 30 seconds. Please contact instructor for additional information on class placement. Dress comfortably in athletic clothing that covers the backs of your knees.  Class size is limited to ensures instructor can individualize curriculum.

Madison Circus Space Circus Sampler

Tri-try circusInterested in trying circus arts, but not sure where to start? We’ve got just the thing for you! Join us for a 90-minute tour of various circus arts.

Three disciplines will be offered* including at least one aerial art (i.e., silks, sling, or dance trapeze) and one ground-based art (i.e, German wheel, juggling, acro-yoga, or hoop/flow).

Ages: Youth and adults ages 13+ (classes for youth ages 6 – 12 can be arranged)

Minimum 10 students signed up and paid in advance, maximum is determined by instructors.

* Disciplines offered are based on number of registrations and instructor availability. Due to multiple variables, we don’t announce which disciplines are offered. If you’re interested in specific art form, we suggest a private lesson.
