Class Description

Monthly continuing 4 week sessions for intermediate students.  We’ll learn fundamental and intermediate postures along with transitions to safely build a strong foundation in aerial arts. Each class will include strength and flexibility exercises specific to aerial training and time to work on new shapes, spins, and Lyra choreography. So named for the unique approach to sequencing and encouragement of expressiveness through movement, this weird lyra class will delight the aerial dancer looking to try something new.

About the Instructor

Jess Clark is an aerialist and aerial arts instructor currently based out of Madison, WI.  She is a 200 hour registered yoga teacher,  and an Unnata Aerial Yoga and Unnata Advanced Aerial Yoga instructor.  She has completed teacher training in Introduction to Aerial Arts, Aerial Silks, Lyra (Aerial Hoop), and Trapeze through the New England Center for Circus Arts, in Aerial Rope through Born to Fly/Paper Doll Militia training program, and in Aerial Straps through Aaron Koz.  She values continuing education and makes her personal training a priority, always striving to adapt and grow as an instructor and artist, and bring new and innovative ideas to her students.  Her classes are inclusive and offer a supportive learning environment for every body.  Instruction is adjusted to individual student needs so that each can safely build a strong technical foundation, progress through skills at a comfortable pace,  and explore movement and artistic expression in new ways.  She currently teaches aerial arts classes at Cycropia Aerial Dance and MCS; and is also available for private lessons.
