Thursdays, September 13 – October 18, 2018, 7:00 pm
$140 per six-week session. A $75 deposit is required to finalize registration, with the remainder due at the first class.
Class is open to (pre)teens ages 12-16. This is class appropriate if your teen has never done silks or aerial arts before!
Has your teen seen circus shows and dreamed about trying it? Do they want to take their dance, gymnastics, rock climbing, or physics practice a step further? Have they been frustrated to find there are not that many options for weekly classes in our area? We are excited to help change that by offering more classes for youth students!
This class series will focus on agility and confidence in foundation moves, using proper technique, alignment, muscle engagement, and of course grace! Limited to two silks per lesson, these classes focus on each student’s individual needs, strengths, and artistry with customized lessons and direction.
Mackenzie has an extensive background in dance and movement performance and education, with studies at Macalester College and Iowa State University and aerial education with NECCA and Born to Fly instructors. Adding in aerial arts in 2010, she practices, choreographs, directs, and performs in shows at MCS and other local venues. As an instructor, she strives to develop solid foundational skills in her students by focusing on each student’s unique physiology and needs to help them be the best aerialist they can be.
