Jenn Bruyer is returning to Madison Circus Space!
Jenn will be offering the following workshops and will also be available for private lessons.
VELCRO: SUCCEEDING WITH MISTAKES (FABRIC)
Velcro was an accidental discovery, an annoying moment in time that turned into a modern marvel. Life is messy. So is fabric. Some of the most interesting moments are or were unplanned. Learn how you can embrace those moments and feel successful! In this workshop you can expect to learn a defined set of skills to adapt to nearly any situation, various strategies for exits and recoveries, and the confidence to embrace mistakes with your own style. We will examine drills, examples that I really appreciate and even have guided exploration time.
CURTAIN CLIMBING – OPEN FABRIC (FABRIC)
Pre-reqs: Ability to invert in the air and be in the air for up to 2 minutes in a supported position.
One of the most distinct attributes of fabric choreography is the ability to open it up and explore! In this workshop we will explore a variety of open fabric maneuvers, shapes and ideas to accentuate your existing skillset and choreographies.
HAMMOCK LIFE: EXPLORING DOUBLE PT SLING
Level: All levels, some sling experience recommended
At the intersection of Cloudswing and Sling we find Double Point Hammock. Many things translate in a meaningful way from both sling and Cloudswing, but the real treasure is the spaces in between those intersections. In this workshop we will explore some of the things that are truly unique about this apparatus as well as some classic shared movements that you already enjoy.
OBSCUREOGRAPHY for SLING (Single Pt Hammock)
Level: Intermediate on Sling
This is a one time opportunity to learn a unique and complete piece of Choreography made especially for your studio. Learn more than just skills. This workshop will expose you to my personal perspective on creating a dance like effect in the air via intentional structure and a careful skill curation that lends itself to various successful movement qualities. We will explore fresh ideas in ascension, shape making and dynamics.
