Winter 2018 session’s special topics class are Choreography and Big Movement!
During each silks session, a special topics class will be offered that covers skills above and beyond learning new tricks. Topics will include things like sequencing, specific skill immersions, conditioning, musicality, choreography, and more. These classes are open to any student age 16+ who has completed at least one full class session of silks with any instructor.
Choreography will offer pre-selected sequences at varying difficulty levels for students to set to their selection of music and to adapt and develop into their own short piece. Classes will focus on transitions, precision, line, emoting, musicality, and working in unison, as well as developing stamina and vocabulary.
Big Movement: Focusing on large movement patterns, this class teaches running circles, spins, runs, sweeps and partner movement that is low to the ground and wickedly fun. Don’t miss your chance to leap, spin, glide and tarzan-swing into a giant crash mat all while developing your upper body, grip, and core strength!
Students have the option of registering for the entire session or for drop-in classes paid weekly.
