Our next Winter Circus production will take place on Feb. 10 and 11, 2018, at the Goodman Community Center! Each production is new, totally original, and a celebration of our all-ages circus community! We will spend 9 Monday afternoons at MCS building a tightwire, rolling globe, German Wheel act! We tend to use a collaborative format that allows participants to learn about choreography, creative process and performance skills as they combine ideas with mentorship and guidance from professionals in the field. Proceeds from the show will benefit our Wild Rumpus Circus Scholarship fund!
Who: Kids (10 and up) through adults, with prior experience and moderate proficiency in one or more of the above disciplines (tightwire, rolling globe, German wheel) and consent of directors. If you have questions about your experience level, please ask!
Marcia Miquelon and Jacob Mills
Mars and Jacob are the dream team behind the Wild Rumpus Circus, Madison’s only youth circus. Since 2002, they have offered circus/theater-based experiences to kids through adults via their Wild Rumpus Circus camps, performances, classes, and workshops. Mars and Jacob use the traditional arts of the circus, including juggling, tight-wire walking, clowning, aerial arts, and acrobatics to teach kids and adults about overcoming challenges and connecting with others in a way that is safe, non-competitive, and fun. Together, they have toured to the Middle East, Europe, and numerous U.S. locations to make their unique brand of hands-on circus accessible to multilingual audiences by speaking the international language of laughter.
