This 6-week workshop is for strong intermediate aerial students to work on low flying dance trapeze. We’ll learn more sequences in the ropes, intermediate level postures, poses, and sequences as well as inversions and drops. Class will include strength and flexibility exercises specific to trapeze as well as lots of time working with new shapes and skills on the bar. Intermediate level aerial experience and the permission of the instructor is required. You’ll build strength while you play. Class size is limited so register early.

Instructor Bio: Sandra Newbury loves to dance in the air and on stilts, and sometimes in the air on stilts. She has performed on many different apparatuses. She joined the circus years ago, training with Mazo Movement Arts Center / Wild Rumpus Circus, Cycropia Aerial Dance, and the Mad City Flyers in Madison. She is passionate about safely bringing the expressive freedom of aerial dance and circus arts to all. She has teacher training in Rope, Aerial Fabrics and Trapeze through Paper Doll Militia, Born to Fly, and the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA). Sandra loves to introduce new people to the fun of flying. She can be found most Sundays hosting Aerial Club at Madison Circus Space.
